A Foundation Built Around Practical Opportunity
The Foundation focuses on training, exposure, confidence building, and meaningful participation in the wellness industry.
An Extraordinary Foundation With a Unique Training and Upliftment Program
The Indus Valley Foundation was founded by Dr Talavane Krishna M.D as a non-profit organisation created to empower rural and tribal youth who had dropped out of the conventional education system and were often marginalised by society.
Through the Foundation, IVAC works to create opportunities, careers, and a more secure future for talented young people who may not have found a path through traditional education.
The central idea is to empower youth through training and education. When conventional education does not fit the realities of these students, the Foundation offers a more practical and engaging approach so they can continue learning without dropping out again.
Many underprivileged youth struggle to access traditional education because of location, social conditions, family responsibilities, or the financial burden of uniforms, books, meals, and related costs.
There is a deep need to uplift and empower these young people, as they represent the next generation of leaders and workforce for the country.
A Focus On Speciality Development
The Indus Valley Foundation focuses on a specific niche: training young people for the wellness industry. This sector continues to grow in India and has a strong need for skilled, reliable, and professionally trained manpower.
The Foundation designed a unique training programme to prepare graduates and alumni for a better future. The programme runs for twelve months, with six months dedicated to internship in the chosen field.
After completing the programme, graduates receive certification in their selected field and move forward into the world of health and wellness. Many are also offered employment by Indus Valley Ayurvedic Centre and begin their career at the very place where they were trained.
The Foundation has helped train and uplift hundreds of youth who may otherwise have been left behind. Some graduates work near home, while many have accepted opportunities in wellness resorts, spas, Ayurvedic centres, and related institutions across India and abroad.
Some alumni have also chosen entrepreneurship and established wellness centres of their own.
The Secret Behind The Successes
One of the reasons behind the Foundation’s success is its integrated training approach. From the beginning of the programme, participants are exposed to practical aspects of the wellness industry that are difficult to recreate inside a conventional classroom.
Their training takes place within Indus Valley Ayurvedic Centre, giving them first-hand exposure to a real wellness environment. Students observe and participate in daily operations, learning from a working institution with established standards of care.
Their teachers and examiners include qualified Ayurveda practitioners, consultants, mentors, and trainers. This allows students to gain guidance in a much more continuous and practical manner than many short-term commercial training settings.
- They are able to apply what they learn immediately in practical situations, rather than only studying theory.
- They become immersed in real aspects of the wellness industry and participate actively in the learning environment.
The Foundation provides training options such as Ayurveda Therapist, Masseuse, Yoga Instructor, and Ayurveda Cook. Along with the chosen field, every participant also undergoes personality development training.
Students receive focused training in English communication skills and basic computer literacy, helping them improve confidence and placement readiness in the wellness industry.
Milestones That Have Been Achieved and Looking Towards the Future.
The uniqueness and impact of the programme have been recognised over time. In 2015, the Indus Valley Foundation signed an agreement with the Department of Sports and Youth Empowerment, Karnataka, to train a large number of youth for the industry.
The Foundation receives support from Indus Valley Ayurvedic Centre and private donors to train youth aged 15 and above as Ayurvedic Therapists, Yoga Instructors, Masseuses, and Ayurveda Cooks.
Its larger vision is to continue making training more accessible across India while improving technology use, skill testing, and continued learning so graduates can meet global wellness standards.
